On October 22, 2015, U.S. Dept. of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced a draft of the National Freight Strategic Plan.
This plan offers specific policy proposals and solutions to address the growing challenges of moving freight in the U.S. Given that freight traffic is expected to increase by 40% or more by 2040, there is concern that the existing transportation infrastructure will be inadequate. As this document and its outcomes will have an eventual impact on shippers, AMTR joins the USDOT in encouraging the public to review and comment on the plan here.
