Freight Rail Reform

The US Senate has unanimously voted to reform the STB, which should help to better address rate complaints and improve competition between railroads.

Shippers may see great benefit from this bill, should it pass through the House as well. But one thing that can never be fully addressed or fixed by legislation is overcharges and billing errors. Even the best intentions of legislation and railroad billing departments cannot eliminate all of the possible overcharges. Shippers still need AMTR post-auditing to catch the money slipping through the cracks.
